The twisted metal TV adaptation is coming to Peacock’s US streaming service.

It turns the vehicular combat series into an action TV series starring Winter Soldier actor Anthony Mackie (thanks, Deadline). He will also serve as executive producer on the show along with Will Arnett, Marc Forman, and Cobra Kai writer Michael Jonathan Smith.

The story follows the character of Mackie – a milkman with no memory of his past – who is given “a once in a lifetime chance” at a better life unless he can deliver a package overland without post-apocalyptic success. Sweet tooths also seem to show up to make her life harder along the way.

There aren’t many other details and no release date at this time, but the TV show is definitely on the way. Although it was announced in September, little has been heard. But now we have a solid foundation, a star, and the support of experienced writers and producers.

It’s been a long time since the game Twisted Metal saw the light of day, and even more so since we switched to the computer. It’s been 10 years since Twisted Metal came to the Playstation 3, but 1996 saw the last time the series came to PC in the form of Twisted Metal 2.

It would be great to see the TV show bring the games back to life – I feel like a vehicle. Fighting games have been a big hit, but I’d love to see them come back. That would be nice on PC too, especially with the number of titles PlayStation has been transferring lately.
